Vagrant launches “heavy music” imprint

Vagrant has announced the launch of Density Records, a new imprint focused on heavy music. Vagrant president Rich Egan explained:

We’ve been hearing some really exciting younger, heavier bands and wanted to bring them into the Vagrant family,Density allows us to branch out into heavier music and reach a new group of music fans.

To that end, the label has announced their first signing, Kingston, Ontario-based I Hate Sally. The band will make their Density debut on June 12th with the U.S. release of Don’t Worry Lady. Canadian music weekly described the band as “ Converge-esque metalcore” and describes frontwoman Dee Prescott as “harder than most of her whiney male compatriots.
