Clit 45 (1997-2007)

Clit 45, who announced they were going on indefinite hiatus back in 2006 have recently stated in a blog entry that they officially broken up. A short statement on the band’s MySpace page says

eh time to stop pussyfooting around. we’re done. i think. yeah fuck it. we are broken up. bye!”

Together since 1997, the Los Angeles street punks three full lengths and a number of EPs, some of which the band warns have been bootlegged, stating:

It has come to our attention that ‘Straight Outta Long Beach’ has been “repressed.” This was done without our consent, our permission, nor our blessing. We are not receiving any compensation either. If I were you I would purchase ‘2, 4, 6, 8’ as the songs that remained in our live set from ‘Straight’ appear on that release in much improved versions. If you must have ‘Straight’ then we recommend downloading it for free from Limewire or something. Just do not purchase the repress. Thanks!

UPDATE: the same thing may have happened with kids arn’t (sic) alright e.p. We are currently investigating.

Bands, always be careful who your work with… always be careful who you give your masters to. Handshake deals with ‘friends’ seem great at the time, but, sometimes they have a way of coming back to fist fuck you, with no lube, or dental dam, or rape dust….. just for a little extra cash. Bullshit man… not cool.

Used Kids (Modern Machines) discuss upcoming plans

The Used Kids, formerly known as the Modern Machines, have announced further plans in regards to their upcoming EP and tour. The band is playing their first ever show on February 1st in Brooklyn at Lost and Found. They discussed their approach for the show and beyond:

We’re playing a set consisting mostly of new songs, or songs from the very last bunch of Modern Machines songs. That’s why this isn’t just another Modern Machines set – this set is way more UzKz than MxMx.

In other news, we’re putting the finishing touches on our April tour. In theory, the Salinas e.p. will be out by then. The tour will go from April 9 through 20, and when the dates are finalized they’ll be posted here at the ‘space. In general, if you live west of the Appalachians, north of the Ohio river, and east of the Mississippi River or in a city that it runs through, you’ll get a chance to see us.

The Mo Macs last released ’Take It, Somebody!’ in 2006 via Dirtnap.
