Constantines guitarist breaks hand, cancels NYC show

Toronto, ON’s The Constantines have been forced to cancel their March 3rd New York show at the Mercury Lounge due to guitarist Steve Lambke breaking a bone in his right hand after falling on some icy steps. They have rescheduled the show for April 16th, and all tickets will still be honored. The injury is not considered serious and the band will still make their appearance at three shows at SXSW.

The new April 16th New York show will also kick off a North American tour that will see the group gone until May, supporing the April 15th release of their fourth full-length album, Kensington Heights.

Terror completes new album

Hardcore act Terror have announced the completion of work on their next album. The new record is the follow up to 2006’s Always the Hard Way and their 2007 EP Rhythm Amongst the Chaos.

Bassist Jonathan Buske explained:

Just checking in to let you all know that the new record is done! We finished tracking and doing vocals a few days ago and have been working with Zeuss on mixes for the past few days. Like every band says about their newest shit, it’s without a doubt the best and hardest Terror record to date. Expect some new Terror flavor, some of the old and some unexpected flavor.

In two days the band will be hitting the road in support of Earth Crisis on their upcoming reunion tour. Following that, they will head to Europe with Ignite and Strung Out.

The (International) Noise Conspiracy detail “The Cross of My Calling”

Sweden’s answer to Barry Manilow, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, have scrounged up some details about their upcoming album The Cross of My Calling, produced by Columbia head, Def Jam co-founder, and superproducer Rick Rubin. The band had this to say:

When it comes to our new album we are as anxious as you are to have it released. It’s been a slow process to get the album mixed and we sure wish things had gone faster, but now things are really moving forward. We have most of the album mixed and it sounds amazing! We want to thank you all for waiting so patiently and you will be rewarded with the best album we have ever done by far. And soon, very soon, we hope to post some exclusive pre-release tracks on-line.

The album will be due out later this year on American Recordings. They previously raised a stink when they signed to that label, probably because they’re Swedish, and Swedes technically aren’t Americans. The band released Armed Love through that label in 2005 and Alternative Tentacles re-issued Live at Oslo Jazz Festival last year.

Marvel Comics interviews This Is Hell

Two of our favorite things: hardcore and comic books have come together in a new interview by Marvel. Interviewer Ryan Penagos talks to Rick Jimenez about his bands This Is Hell and Soldiers before geeking out about Daredevil, Spider-Man, The Avengers, The New Mutants and how Galactus is just a “giant dude in a purple skirt.”

You can check it out here.
