Bomb The Music Industry!: “Fresh Attitude Young Body” (demo)

DIY mastermind Jeff Rosenstock has posted a new Bomb The Music Industry! demo. The track is his first experience with the program Logic and is a previously promised “piano jam.”

This is one of the promised “piano jams” although I guess it’s not as slow as I thought. It is pretty long though, huh? Guess we better speed it up when it comes time to really record it, huh? Also, it doesn’t have any of that crazy ranting that was the reason I liked Bomb the Music Industry and also whurrrrz the upstrokes and all the synthesizerz?

You can hear the demo for “Fresh Attitude Young Body” at their MySpace page.

Gearhead signs Hellbound Glory

Gearhead Records has signed Reno, Nevada based country act Hellbound Glory. The band’s new album Scumbag Country will be released by the label on April 29th. Label head Michelle Haunold discussed the band, an atypical signing for a label famous for garage punk music from bands like New Bomb Turks, the Hellacopters and the Hives. She stated “Some of the long-standing Gearhead fans might be a bit shocked when they hear this release, but when you really break it down, the band and their brand of outlaw country fits right in with the more aggressive punk and rock n’ roll that I’ve released.”

The four piece Hellbound Glory formed in 2004 and has toured with acts like Hank III, the Supersuckers, David Allen Coe, Wayne Hancock, Heavy Trash and BR549. They’ve been playing in support of their self-released debut full length.

The Living End entering the studio

Australia’s finest, The Living End, are heading into the studio with producer John Agnello at Water Music Studios in Hoboken, New Jersey. Agnello forged a name for himself in the heady days of the ’90s, working with Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jnr and The Hold Steady.

Frontman Chris Cheney adds:

After quite a long period of writing/demoing we are keen as hell to get in the studio and make the best record of our career. We are more excited about the new material than any time before in The Living End’s history – seriously!

There is a heaviness and depth to the new stuff that we simply haven’t had before. We haven’t worked alongside producer John Agnello before but judging from the rock records he’s done, we feel he can capture the energy and attack that we are after.

The record is due out in mid-July and follows State of Emergency released in 2006. Our friend Terry of Ryan’s Hope interviewed Chris around the release of their last album. You can check out the interview here.
