Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) plans second Nightwatchman LP

The Nightwatchman Tom Morello, the outspoken guitarist, producer and activist from Rage Against The Machine has announced plans for his second solo album as The Nightwatchman. The record is titled The Fabled City and is due out September 30, 2008. It comes just eighteen months after his solo debut, One Man Revolution.

Tom adds:

My goal was to capture the energy and emotion of The Nightwatchman live shows. There is a much more rocking quality to this record, solos and riffs, mixed with darker acoustic songs.

Along with the solo work, Tom has been active as producer for the major label debut from Outernational and plenty of reunion dates with Rage.

Travis Barker records drums for The Game’s “Dope Boys”

While his bandmate from Plus-44, Mark Hoppus, keeps busy producing the new album from New Found Glory, Travis Barker continues to contribute his trademark drumming to hip hop tracks. The latest is not a remix, but an official track with popular artist, The Game.

Barker recorded “Dope Boys” for The Game’s upcoming album, “L.A.X.” and has posted a video of his performance online. He previously remixed songs from the likes of Rihanna, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes and others. Unlike previous studio videos, Barker has a guest in the studio who seems to be responsible for “shirtless hip hop posing.” See if you can spot him.

There is also a lot of thought provoking stuff that focuses more on social commentary in the songs too.’
