Naples, FL’s Tom Gabel has posted a performance of the song “Anna is a Stool Pigeon” from his solo EP Heart Burns. The video was recorded by Jake Maymudes on October 26th, 2008 in Sacremento, CA at the Nimbus Dam.
Gabel’s band, Against Me!, was recently in a bus accident and Gabel himself recently weighed in on the situation as well as discussed his new EP.

Canadian hardcore act Liferuiner‘s final show ended badly after what the venue attributed to some bad behaviour from the band. A dispute over door receipts led to:
Bottom line, [the booking agent] did a terrible job running the door. 117 people were in the room that should have paid (I went and did a head count) and only 74 did. Bottom line, she was short on the guarantee.
[Liferuiner] approach me in the back while I’m cleaning up the mess. All of them get in my face, and state the usual pissed off tough guy remarks/attitude, “Give us the fucking money or we’ll fuck you up + we’ll steal the sound system + let’s burn this mother fucker down.” I tell them, “I’m not giving you shit. This wasn’t my show and I’m in no position to pay for someone elses fuck up.”
Most bands want to go out in a bang, they went out in handcuffs.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have announced plans for a brand new full length and before that, a new 7-inch. The band explained:
Lately we have been busy writing and recording music for a new MMB record. Two of the songs, “Impossible Dream” and “next To Nothing” will be released next month on a limited edition 7″ on our own Big Rig Records (500 on black, 500 on white). We added these two songs to the player TONIGHT in order to commemorate and celebrate this historic election. Enjoy!

The Sacramento Bee is reporting that Deftones bassist Chi Cheng is in a coma in a San Jose hospital after a car accident in Santa Clara on Monday. The band’s vocalist, Chino Moreno, had only this to say:
I don’t know everything that’s going on — I just know it’s very serious. I’m on my way to be with his family, I’m pretty freaked out about it.
The band was working on their sixth studio album, Eros, set for a spring 2009 release.

The Fire Still Burns, which featured members of Lifetime, Bigwig, Nora and Ensign, has called it a day. The band explained:
It has been a long, fun, and awesome run, and we had a great time over the years. unfortunately, as sometimes happens when people lead busy lives, time becomes an issue and we can no longer make the band happen the way it should. there is no bad blood, there is no “drama”, and there are no hard feelings. the plain truth is that we are 5 guys going in 5 directions- and each one doing a million different bands and projects and things in their personal lives that make it impossible for us to continue to be a band anymore. it’s all good. we will live on.
The band released Keeping Hope Alive in 2005.

November 5, 2008 – Early access to the Left 4 Dead demo begins Thursday, November 6 on both the PC and Xbox 360. The early demo access is scheduled to begin around 2 am PST on the Xbox 360 and 7 am PST on the PC.
This promotion is being offered in addition to the 10% savings for those who pre-order and applies to all Steam PC pre-orders and all PC and Xbox 360 pre-orders from GameStop and EB Games in North America.
On November 11 the demo will be made available to all PC and Xbox 360 gamers worldwide, with no obligation to purchase. The demo concludes on November 18, when Left 4 Dead will be made available at retail outlets across North America and worldwide via Steam.

Barack Obama has won the US presidential election and will become the nation’s 44th president in January of 2009. CNN is projecting a 333 electoral vote majority for Senator Obama as well as Democratic majorities in the House and Senate.
The Obama campaign had this to say:
