The Blackout Pact: “Track 02”

The Blackout Pact The Blackout Pact have posted a song from their upcoming final EP. Wolves In The Lazarette is due out this fall on Eyeball Records (CD) and Tired Owl Records (vinyl), and you can check out “Track 02” at the band’s MySpace page.

The band called it a day in 2006, but reformed late last year. Their lone full-length, Hello Sailor, was released in 2005 and members went on to form bands such as Only Thunder and Sleeper Horse.

Senses Fail will embark on a headlining run in September with A Skylit Drive, Closure in Moscow and FACT in tow.

Senses Fail will be supporting last year’s Vagrant effort, Life Is Not a Waiting Room. The rest of the bands have 2009 releases: A Skylit Drive recently issued Adelphia on Fearless; Closure in Moscow released First Temple on Equal Vision; and FACT released a self-titled venture through Vagrant.

Attack In Black: “Liberties”

Welland, Ontario’s Attack In Black have unveiled their new video for the song “Liberties” from their recent full length (Years) By One Thousand Fingertips.

The new full length was released this past March on Dine Alone Records. In coming weeks the band will play several festivals, including North Rocks The Bay in North Bay, ON, the Wolfe Island Music Festival in Kingston, ON and SappyFest in Sackville NB.

The folks behind The Fest 8 have announced some additions to this year’s lineup, including scheduled performances from Light Yourself on Fire, Vicious Cycle, Guiltmaker, Arms Aloft, The Knockdown, Forensics, Defiance, Ohio, Carpenter, Worry Ship, Cutting Class, Hawks and Doves, This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb, Iron Lung, Coalesce, Chris Wollard and The Ship Thieves, King Friday, Drag the River, Joe McMahon (Smoke Or Fire), The Matt Kurz One, Fin Fang Foom, Shark Pants, Todd Congelliere, The Textbook Committee (Guided by Voices Tribute Band), The Methadones, WILD ASSumptions, Dukes of Hillsborough, American Steel, Joey Cape, Jon Snodgrass, Chad Price and a special reunion from Gunmoll and Gainesville ‘visionaries’ Hair Beard Combo.

The initial lineup announcement promised appearances from Samiam, 7 Seconds, Torche, Less Than Jake, Strike Anywhere and many more. The festival will be taking place October 30-November 1 in Gainesville, FL.

Dan Yemin (Paint It Black)

Paint It Black Philadelphia-based hardcore unit Paint It Black have been creating music since the early 2000s, when they released their debut album CVA. Two LPs later, the band (fronted by vocalist Dan Yemin of Kid Dynamite and Lifetime fame) are now busy flexing their EP muscles. They released Amnesia on June 16 via Bridge 9 Records and will follow it up with a second EP, Surrender on August 18 via Fat Wreck Chords. Both EPs come in the form of 7″ vinyl, focusing on the roots of the band’s passion. The band will hit the road with Naked Raygun this September to support the efforts. Punknews.org interviewer Laila Hanson was able to sit down for a phone interview with Yemin on July 20.
