Offspring guitarist looks ahead to next album

The Offspring guitarist Noodles recently spoke to Clink Music Magazine about the band’s upcoming plans. Of interest was a comment that the new album would feature reworkings of material left on the cutting room floor from their prior three full lengths. Noodles commented on the process

…rather than starting in the studio and starting from scratch and having to put it all aside while were touring, Dexter met with [producer Bob Rock] and they kind of looked at some of the old stuff as kind of a starting point for the new album really. We’re going to write a whole new album so it is not going to be rehashed b-sides. Plus there’s a lot of stuff, over the years we have written a lot of stuff that has potential but we just never flushed it out completely. So we are not going to just put out crap just for the sake of putting crap out.

The band will likely hit the studio early next year with producer Bob Rock, who produced last year’s Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace. The new record will likely mark the recorded debut of drummer Pete Parada, formerly of Face to Face and Saves The Day.
