SPIN and MySpace Music are teaming up to present Germs of Perfection: A Tribute to Bad Religion, a digital compilation in honor of the influential band’s 30th anniversary. The second song from the series has been posted already, a cover of “Better Off Dead” performed by Polar Bear Club. The track comes from Bad Religion‘s 1994 album, Stranger Than Fiction.
Our drummer, Emmett [Menke], has a tattoo of the Suffer album cover-the one with the kid covered in flames. For him, and a lot of people, Bad Religion was a door into punk rock. Once you open that door, it almost never closes.
The entire compilation will be available free of charge on October 19th via SPIN.
