Take a look back 15 years to the Billboard top 50 albums for February 25, 1989. Holy Shiznit! Rock and Roll ruled the roost! Look at all of those hair bands, from GnRs 2 top 10 albums to Winger, Cinderella and the Bulletboys (Saw that tour too). Telsa and U2 made the top 50 and they are all ahead of a little known band called Metallica (at least to the average joe, us hardcore fans knew em well!). WOW!
Better hurry! This Billboard chart is constantly updating to the current week, 15 years ago! It sure takes you back to a time where Real Men wore make-up, women loved em and they could still kick your ass..... |

I feel like a member of the Scooby gang. Recently, we have seen a lot of people having problems with Punkbusters giving a message like "Trying to update PunkBuster Client: and then not updating the properly. The next thing you know, the server has kicked you and will not let you back on for 2 minutes. You wait 2 minutes, get back into the server and little bit later, BAM, it does it again.
Well gang, mystery solved.
You need to open ports 24300 through 24350 on your client computers firewall/router, etc.... Lets hope this does the trick! |

Are you having problems with PunkBusters kicking you from Battlefield 1942 servers with a message about not being able to update the client? The fix is very simple, although the PB website is some what convoluted on the subject. Go to the PB download site and get pbweb. Put it in your pb directory, located in the root of your Battlefield 1942 directory and then run it.
You should be updated after that and no longer get kicked for running an older version of PunkBusters.

By now, you have all probably heard about Janet Jacksons boob show during the half time performance of the Superbowl. Did you know that Tivo said it was the most watched thing ever recorded in the history of Tivo?
What I bet you havent heard is the VFW is ticked off at Kick Rock for cutting an American Flag down the center and wearing it as a poncho during his performance.
Foxnews has a little bit about it: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,110455,00.html.
Always a controversy...... Sheesh! |

Here are some stories we saw when recently browsing MTVNews online.
Monster Magnets ninth album, Monolithic Baby, will be released in North America in March. The disc was produced by Scott Humphrey and features new members Jim Baglino (bass) and Bob Pantella (drums). Tracks include "Slut Machine" and "Supercruel." ...
Taproot will head to Chicago in two weeks to record a collaboration with former Smashing Pumpkins/ Zwan frontman Billy Corgan. The band also recently worked with Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter. Both tracks are slated for the next Taproot album, due later this year. ...
A Perfect Circle have added eight shows to their North American spring tour. The new dates begin April 17 in Indianapolis and run through May 1 in Holmdel, New Jersey.
See if you are one of them at the official A Perfect Circle website. |

The most loathsome and malevolent of creatures have settled here. Sleepless malice keeps them locked in eternal conflict, so that even the river stinks of death.

Thanks to -*[GRB]*- Sarge for pointing out this cool interview with Finger Eleven. They have a really great album right now, including the single One Thing. If we still had a music station, I would deffinately have this song in heavy rotation.
Read about this great band at: http://www.dcn.com/contest/band_page.jsp?artist_id=5212
Visit the official Finger Eleven Website

Id like to congratulate Warner Brothers music for being the first record label to actually get it. Dont get me wrong, I still think all major record labels are scum and I will as long as they support the RIAA.
MTV.com has the full scoop on Waner Bros. releasing a new band called The Secret Machines debut album on the internet 4 months before you can buy it in stores. Here is small snipet from the article:
Even when adopting the most drastic measures, record labels seem helpless to prevent albums from surfacing online before their release dates. So now one label is taking the "if you cant beat em, join em" approach.
Get the rest at MTV.com.
On a side note, you can hear the album streaming on the official The Secret Machines website. Im listening to it now. Interesting stuff.... |

More music news by way of MTV.com. This time around, Kurt Loader has a great three page interview with Maynard James Keenan, lead singer of Tool and A Perfect Circle. Of course, Im sure you already new that. :-)
Even mediocre fans should check this one out. Kind of strange, but cool at the same time. Sorta like Maynard, himself. My favorite part is right up front, when he starts talking about his Free Frances Bean T-shirt. Here is a snipet:
Oh, yeah, back in 96, 97. Everybody at that time was trying to get us to do all these benefit shows — you know, like "Free Tibet." And I was like, "Im gonna have my own platform: Free Frances Bean."
Get it at, where else, MTV.com. |
