Greg Graffin (Bad Religion) talks about faith and his new book

Doug Elfman from the Las Vegas Review-Journal spoke to Bad Religion frontman Greg Graffin in his UCLA office last Thursday.

Elfman’s in-depth interview has Greg philosophizing on the nature of faith in society and relationships, naturalism and luck in Las Vegas. Also, he talks about his upcoming book, which is targetted at mainstream audiences (not academic circles) and will look into naturalism and supernaturalism.

Greg notes:

We’re gonna have to decide if we want to be a fact-based society, or if we want to hold out for this supernaturalism – if there’s any place for it in our society. I’ll tell you what. There certainly isn’t any place for [supernaturalism] when it comes to climate change and ecological catastrophes, because those things require good decision-making based on cold hard facts, and you’re not gonna get those facts from religions.
