Mastodon will be recording their second major label album with producer Brendan O’Brien. O’Brien has produced albums from Korn, Bruce Springsteen, Audioslave, The Offspring, Wire and many others. The record marks the band’s first album without longtime producer, Matt Bayles, who record all their material up to 2006’s major label debut, Blood Mountain.

The record is expected in the fall.
