The (International) Noise Conspiracy detail “The Cross of My Calling”

Sweden’s answer to Barry Manilow, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, have scrounged up some details about their upcoming album The Cross of My Calling, produced by Columbia head, Def Jam co-founder, and superproducer Rick Rubin. The band had this to say:

When it comes to our new album we are as anxious as you are to have it released. It’s been a slow process to get the album mixed and we sure wish things had gone faster, but now things are really moving forward. We have most of the album mixed and it sounds amazing! We want to thank you all for waiting so patiently and you will be rewarded with the best album we have ever done by far. And soon, very soon, we hope to post some exclusive pre-release tracks on-line.

The album will be due out later this year on American Recordings. They previously raised a stink when they signed to that label, probably because they’re Swedish, and Swedes technically aren’t Americans. The band released Armed Love through that label in 2005 and Alternative Tentacles re-issued Live at Oslo Jazz Festival last year.
