Weezer sets date, title for new album

Weezer has set a release date and title for their forthcoming full length and sixth studio album. As far as a name, the band has opted to self-title the record for the third time (Your move, Bronx?)

The album is due out June 17, 2008 and was produced by Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, (International) Noise Conspiracy, Slayer). Frontman Rivers Cuomo noted:

The album is meaty, crunchy and melodic like a good Weezer album should be.

The album is the follow-up to Make Believe which was released in 2005 and spawned that “Beverly Hills” single.
