Billie Joe and family working with Habitat for Humanity

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day has been working with Habitat for Humanity. He and his family are currently in New Orleans working on a house and they plan to document the process via Greenday.net.

Here is a bit of Billie Joe’s latest update:

Today we worked at the upper 9th ward. I hung soffit over the front porch. I had to do some upside down hammering technique but we managed to get the job done. We felt a great sense of accomplishment when we finished.

Billie Joe and his band have been quite involved with New Orleans, with the band collaborating with U2 on a special single to benefit the struggling city last year.

New updates and photos are expected each day for the duration of the job.
