Gene Simmons goes to war with Anonymous

KISS guitarist Gene Simmons’ recent rant about copyright infringement has put him in the crosshairs for Internet vigilante group, Anonymous. The loosely affiliated group previously took on the Church of Scientology with online and offline protests and began by taking down genesimmons.com/. Simmons responded – as per his M.O. – by threatening a lawsuit and prison rape:

And, as stated in my MIPCOM speech, we will sue their pants off. First, they will be punished. Second, they might find their little butts in jail, right next to someone who’s been there for years and is looking for a new girl friend.

Unfortunately, DDOS attacks like the one Simmons refers to are notoriously difficult to trace, since by their nature they come from thousands of separate machines simultaneously, some of which are compromised.
