Lobster Records’ team launches Oort label, readies new releases

The fine folks behind Lobster Records have announced the formation of Oort Records. The founders explain the purpose of the new imprint:

Our label is a starter home for new bands […] [We] offer contracts on a project by project basis; moderate budget, one album deals that provide artists with an opportunity to create without being confined. We work closely with artists to develop their ability to reach an audience and promote themselves to the next level. Our goal is to deliver high quality rock music at a reasonable cost to the fans at a rate of eight to ten releases a year.

To that end, the label has announced three debut releases. Dawn of the Dude, Rosematter and Anchors for Arms who will be releasing albums in October.
